Featuring Gifts for Dad Ideas, SIX of them!

Father's Day Gift Idea
DA006-M

Father's Day will be here before you know it. So, we have another gift to buy. Except this time for Dad. Do you have any idea what you're getting him? I'm not sure what I'm getting my dad yet, so I did some research for you.

During my research, I found so many brilliant ideas all in ONE place!! That's right, I said one place. So what is this great place? Amazon.com! You can find home improvement, lawn and garden, clothing and much more!

Another thing I wanted to try was possibly a DIY project. And that's when I looked at my own job. We have so many fun Dad-related wall decals! Putting it on a canvas or a board would be a great project! And it wouldn't cost you a fortune!

Is your dad somewhat of a geek? And by geek, I mean loves all things technology? Well, I think I found the perfect website for you! PCMag.com has some awesome ideas that any tech-savvy dad would love!

Is your dad a jokester? Find him the perfect gag gift to make his day!

My dad always likes to look nice. He can't go anywhere without cologne on or his hair combed just so. Many times I just get him some new cologne or a new tie. But that becomes so unoriginal that I like to find something more fun instead.

Hunting and fishing are popular sports among dads. Find him some new gear at the nearest Cabela's or Bass Pro Shop! Or here is a funny wall decal for him!

Happy early Father's Day to all the dads out there! Hope you have a great day, and know that you're appreciated every day, not just one day out of the year!

Creating Borders with Wall Sticker Stripes

Learn How to Stripes Wall StrickerHello everyone! Are you looking to revitalize your walls? Well, we decided to add some stripes to our walls in the entryway here in the shop! And we figured we would elaborate in this blog on the application process of these wall stickers stripes!

Make sure to measure your space to see how many wall sticker stripes to order! Our wall stripes vary in size and pieces. They are about 2 feet long and depending on which one you order 1, 2, 4 or 6 inches high.

Once you receive your wall stripes, follow these steps.

1. As with any other wall decals, you want to make sure your wall surface is clean. Just a damp cloth works really well!

2. Make sure to have all the necessary items ready! You might need a level if you don't want to eyeball how straight the stripes are. (And believe me it is hard!)
.
3. Peel and stick. Yup, it's that simple. Watch our tutorial to see just how easy it is!  We suggest overlapping the stripes just a bit so that each section is secured together.

Our walls look so lovely! I think that's my favorite part about them. They make our entryway to the shop very warm and inviting!

I hope this tutorial helps you decide to add some pizazz to your walls! It's so easy and looks awesome!

How to Create a Grandchildren Photo Board with Clothespins

Here's something I've been wanting to do for a long time!  And then with the help of my manager (2 heads are always better than 1!), we have it accomplished... and I LOVE IT!

We tested out the use of a grandchildren wall decal that has been rolled and packaged for over a year; to see if the wrinkles are an issue.  We found, when applying to this glossy painted smooth board, it was no issue at all.  We did have the wall sticker lying flat for about a week before we did the application.  This is something I recommend for all wall decals that come packaged in a roll - press and lie the decals for flat for a day or 2 before application.

Here we show the beginning of application of the wall decal... where you use the hinge-method to apply a small part first.

The Grandchildren board after we have the sticker applied - shown above.

I am totally going to stock on more of this type of paint!  We had been using an acrylic craft paint previously .. but this paint made application of the wall decal SO much easier.  Plus we did not waste a foam brush nor did we have to come back the next day and apply a 2nd coat.  To get a good covering, we just sprayed a 2nd layer about 10 minutes after the first.

Here's where my manager was handy to have around.  I was struggling to get the clothespin nailed on properly.  She suggested flipping the top part off to the side - Ah..HA - easy as pie now!

I added wood glue under the clothespin along with nailing to keep it sturdier.

AND... the finished project.. Grandchildren Photo Board!!  It just needs a couple grandchildren pictures to display!

Adding Spring to Our Office with Trailing Flower Vinyl Decals

Seeing as it is actually SPRING already, it was a given that the snowflake decals needed to come down in the office!  I chose these gorgeous Decorative Flower Decals to brighten up my office window.

Follow my steps to get the same trailing/flowing look:

Choose your colors (Lilac, Plum and Soft Pink) first and then move onto cutting apart the flower wall decals
Cutting apart the flower decals allows me to arrange them in anyway that fits my needs.
The type of wall decals where you can cut apart and re-arrange them gives you bargain prices for the wall area you cover. We, as a wall decal manufacturer, can make the wall decals in the most economical way and you, the customer, can arrange the wall decals to fit your available space.

Now, on to arranging the flower wall decals. I like the flowing look.  I was aiming for the flower decals to appear floating around the glass of my office window.

So I started with taping up the largest flower decals; spacing the various flower decals out.  I had to take the tape layer off right away because I was anxious to see how it was shaping up!

After that I added the next largest size and did this step until I was down to the littlest flower decals.

The tiny flower wall decals were used to fill in and add tails to the floating design.

Don't forget to grab the necessary accessories for any pet at Pet Smart! You should have a bed for your dog or cat, whichever you have. And don't forget the toys! Animals get bored very easily and will need distraction from the tempting view of your clothing and shoes or furniture! My dogs love rawhide bones and will stay quiet and have good behavior for hours while they chew on them.

So, next time you decide you need to get a little something for your beloved pet, think about a wall decal! Or just grab a new chew toy or catnip :)

Have a wonderful day!

Should I Apply a Sealant Over My Decals or Stickers

Have you wondered if you should be sealing their decals?  Customers occasionally question applying a sealant when applying decals to a board or tile and want to make it last for many years.  Here we have a little info about decal stickers and polyurethane.

If you are ordering a wall decal, it should be a matte finish and the adhesive is not super strong (to allow you to take it off without ruining your painted walls).  Here is a picture of what can happen if you apply a thick coat of polyurethane over a wall decal sticker.

Polyurethane can cause the edges of the decal to curl. Now I am not saying you CANNOT seal your decal sticker.... we have had customers apply a sealant without any problems.

Here is some things to consider:
If you have a Wall Decal (matte finish and not super-strong adhesive), use a VERY light coat of polyurethane.  Mod Podge is another product that I have heard customers state they have used over their wall decal stickers. The polyurethane tends to curl the edges of a decal sticker and with the lighter adhesive, the strength of the adhesive can break down.... on a Wall Decal Sticker
Another factor on the above board might have been the seams of the wood - this allowed the polyurethane to seep under the decal sticker just a bit and this reacted adversely with the adhesive on the decal sticker.

When our customer sent us this photo with "Help!" as the subject line, we suggested we get her another decal (we generally offer a mess-up decal replacement at half price).  The second decal sticker would be made with the GLOSSY OUTDOOR grade material, though.

The glossy was not a factor since the polyurethane she added made the decal glossy-looking anyway.  And our outdoor grade material has a MUCH stronger adhesive... once the decals sticks to a spot, there is very little chance you have to pick it up and move it to the correct spot!  So the stronger adhesive of our Glossy vinyl material was a much better fit for this project. The strength of the adhesive allowed for a strong application to the wood and therefore wouldn't curl the edges of the decal, when a light coat of polyurethane was applied.

Generally a sealant is not needed for a decal made with our Glossy outdoor grade material, but if you want to feel safer, go ahead and apply a coat of sealant or polyurethane over your decal, but, please, make it a LIGHT coat! The beanbag toss board picture below is an example of using a light sealant coat over our decal stickers.
